Skin contouring, better known as laser skin tightening, is a non-invasive laser treatment that safely combines infrared light and radiofrequency to heat the dermal layer of your skin. The aim of this procedure (as you may have guessed) is to tighten loose or saggy skin, which in turn can also assist in diminishing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
When your skin is heated, it actually stimulates new collagen growth and thus improves elasticity and volume! In fact, most stand to benefit from skin tightening as a stand-alone treatment.
This budget-friendly treatment can also help reduce the amount you need to invest in complementary treatments!
Dermal fillers and Neuromodulators (Botox® and Dysport®) are often seen as some of the most significant human-made solutions in the fight against aging. These two treatment options can deliver drastic results in the respective areas they aim to treat. Dermal fillers can help to add volume that we tend to lose with age, while neuromodulators can relax facial muscles and prevent wrinkles from forming or worsening. Dabbling in the world of injectables can definitely aid you in your search for eternal youth; however, combining these procedures with laser skin tightening treatments can result in more effective, prolonged results.
Generally speaking, most will see a noticeable difference in their skin laxity following their first skin tightening treatment. As your collagen continues to regenerate, your results will become more pronounced. On average, it is recommended that you do anywhere between two and six treatments depending on your degree of skin laxity or sagging. Unlike other laser treatments where skin tone can affect your eligibility, the laser used for skin tightening – the eTwo Sublative™ + Sublime™ treatment – is safe for all skin complexions. In other words, you do not need to worry about your skin potentially pigmenting from this treatment.
The results can generally be seen in as soon as 2-3 months after beginning the treatments, with full results in 4-6 months. The before and after photos included in this post are of my husband after three months, just after his third treatment. Although he is in the later stages of male pattern baldness, the results have been excellent. The other photos are of a female client who was experiencing thinning at her part line as well as the front of her head; these were taken approximately four months apart.
FAQ for Laser Skin Tightening
Below I’ve answered some questions regarding PRP Hair Restoration that I am often asked.
Who is a good candidate for PRP?
Almost anyone experiencing hair loss may be a potential candidate, but those in earlier stages generally respond best. Always best to start early, rather than wait.
How many treatments are required?
Treatment will vary based on one’s specific needs. Initially, three treatments, spaced one month apart, are recommended.
How long does a treatment take?
Each treatment can take between 45 minutes to an hour, including collecting blood, spinning it, and injecting.
Is the procedure painful?
Some may experience some sensitivity and minor discomfort, but the procedure is a relatively comfortable experience for most.
Is there a recovery period?
Post-treatment, your scalp, and hair will be damp from the plasma that is topically applied, and it is recommended that you let it settle for a few hours before taking a warm shower. I recommend bringing a hat along with you for the trip home!
